Standing in the Footsteps

I have entered my thirty first year of ministry.  I can truly say that I have been blessed.

This week I have the privilege of preaching at Yelvington Camp meeting located nearOwensboro Kentucky.  I was thinking this morning how awesome it is to be preaching the same place that Billy Sunday preached many years ago.  Billy Sunday was know as being extremely demonstrative when he preached.  He would toss his coat and was known at times to get so excited that he would slide across the front of the front platform where he was preaching.

As I thought about preaching where he preached – I remembered

*I have preached from the same pulpit as Francis Asbury

*Stood on the grave of John and Charles Wesley’s father where Charles Wesley preached after being thrown out of the church where his father was head vicar for many years.

*I have prayed in John Wesley’s prayer room and I actually read the first three chapters of the gospel of John out of Wesley’s Bible.

*I slept in the same room where Count Zinzendorf (greatly influenced the Moravians in America who influenced Wesley) who sent over 10,000 missionaries all across early America.

*I have been prophesied over by some of the greatest prophets in America ( Bob Jones – Heidi Baker).

However, nothing compares to walking where Jesus walked – preaching where Jesus preached.  Experiencing the Jordan River, Calvary, the Mount of Olives, the Garden Of Gethsemane truly impacted my spiritual life greatly.   Experiencing the places where Jesus, the true Son Of God came to earth to save, heal, deliver humanity are pinnacles of my earthly and spiritual experiences.

But the greatest experience in my life was the night when I repented of my sin and received the gift of salvation and when I was Baptized in the Holy Spirit.  These experiences were great beginnings for me to a fuller abundant spiritual life. Now I am so privileged to be preaching throughout the United States and in many countries around the world.  Who would have thought a boy from a small town in Tennessee.

God is waiting for each person to come to Him and be empowered to share His love – grace – and means of forgiveness through Jesus!   It does not matter if you have not stood in some of the places I have stood – or walked in the footsteps where I have walked – what matters is that YOU stand is God’s favor and power and YOU can walk in HIS footsteps.

A Troubled Heart

 A Troubled Heart

Fear and Anxiety have a way of overtaking one who believes the subliminal lies of the enemy.  Atmospheric demonic spirits lurk in the shadows awaiting for misfortune and unforeseen circumstances so they can play havoc with our minds and emotions.

Since the fall of humanity, Satan and the forces of hell have been seeking to keep the sons and daughters of God from reaching their full potential.  Through these strategical schemes and tactics we the children of God have believed their lies.

Scriptures tells us in John 14:27, “Let not your heart be troubled . . . “.  When we allow fear and anxiety to control us we reject God’s capability and unmerited favor to change satanic outcomes and oppression in our lives. To put it bluntly – Satan is after your heart; the core of who you are.

You are a child of the Most High God! You are a person with FAVOR and access to God through the blood of Jesus.  Jesus has given us “Peace” (vs.27) – peace with God.  In the Hebraic understanding peace is the Shalom of God in the midst of chaos.  Chaos has been with us since the fall of humanity – caused by demonic influence mentally and physically in our lives.  We would call this chaos “trials and tribulations”.

Let me give you my definition of trials and tribulations.

Trials – that which is internal in our minds which brings great heartache and mental stress and anxiety.

Tribulations – Circumstances beyond ones control which take place in our environment as we live, move and have our being (Acts 17:28) (External stimuli). *It is our ultimate goal to live in Him and not according to the standards of the world.

James 1 : 2 -3 says, ”My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials and tribulations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience.”

Are you not thankful and joyful we have access to the throne room in heaven – through the blood of Jesus – in the midst of fear and anxiety to gain faith and assurance? In this assurance we can trust the Father’s love and sovereignty to take care of us as CHILDREN with a hope and a future which is always in His hands and care.

My greatest joy as a father, is when little Morgan comes running to me – to seek help, security, and safety.  In the blog photo – Morgan and our dog McKenzie, both came running and jumped in my lap during a recent thunderstorm.  My fatherly instincts took over as I desired to present to her and McKenzie the attributes of love and care to settle the distresses of their hearts and bring calmness to their minds.  Is it not the same with our heavenly FATHER?  Doesn’t He want our hearts NOT to be troubled but totally rely upon Him?  Absolutely!

Prayer:

Lord today we repent where we allow fear and anxiety to dictate our lives.  Help us to have faith in Your supreme destiny in our lives.  As we now can come boldly before You with full assurance of faith – asking – seeking – and seeing chaos removed and knowing You are a good Father who cares for us.  In Jesus name! Amen!

Seeking Him with All my HEART!

Blessings RIC

Calling to Repentance and Holiness!

Where are the morals and standards we were raised with? What has happened to right and wrong? Why has good become bad and bad become good?
There has been a major shift in moral standards in the past few years not only in the culture but also within the church. The demonic influence of political correctness…where we are more concerned with offending others than speaking truth has led us down a path where there is NO repentance and now we have a generation who believes incorrect and has a general acceptance of sinful behavior.

Matthew 24:10-12 (NKJV) says:
10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

This is the generation we live in…Jesus goes on to say:

“Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors!”
-Matthew 24:30-33 NKJV

This is a time where many will be deceived and offended. Love has grown cold!
The parusa (return) of Jesus is getting closer. The fig tree is tender and putting forth leaves.

Do not fall for the deception of the enemy (the doctrines of demons) where your ears are tickled and the truth is twisted.

The is the season for prophets to speak out in the wilderness… Jesus is alive! Repent! Turn from the perversion of misinterpretation of the WORD of God and remain steadfast, unshakeable, true to what Gods word says.
God brings order NOT confusion and chaos,
He is Light and in Him is no darkness at all, He does not change. This generation has forgotten we were created in His likeness…many are trying to make God into their likeness.

God says,”Be a Holy for I am Holy.”

Jesus came to change and transform us, to restore us where we are in a right relationship with the Father.

There must be a change of heart and a change of mind. We cannot continue in sin.

Romans 6 says:
1What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

5For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,a that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.

8Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

11In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. 14For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.

Sin must no longer be our master and we are to instruments of righteousness and bring everything under the blood of Jesus!

The fig tree is tender, do not be deceived, repent and follow Jesus!

Bringing Resurrection Life!

Come Out – Come Out!

Come out! Come out! Wherever you are!We have entered into a time of lulling in the church; “A falling away.” It is disconcerting to watch the church accept false doctrine and deviate from orthodox truth. Paul wrote Timothy warning this, 2 Timothy 4:2-5,
“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.”

Where are the prophets and apologist?

They are afraid to come out of hiding because they have believed the cultivated lie of how they’re going to be criticized and lose their financial security and constituency.

We have been called to preach a two edged sword gospel that corrects and rebukes yet many compromise this important calling. Therefore, our churches settle for a milk-toast watered down message, filled with political correctness while the pulpit has lost its credibility, effectiveness, and conviction pull.

Where are the prophets? Where are the apostles?

When Jesus challenged the Pharisees, Heroidians, and the religious system of His day He was direct and straight forward. Paul had the same mindset as he brought correction in his epistles.

Why has Holy Spirit boldness been replaced with political correctness and fear of offending others.

So goes the church… so goes the world.

We are to be individuals bringing the Kingdom of God which challenges and transforms culture. However, the church has been deceived by being influenced by culture and adopting a corrupt worldly mentality.

Creeds and prayers are spoken from the mind and not the heart. Ritual and custom stefan the flow of Holy Spirit. Creativity ceases while divine inspiration is diminished and criticized. Envy, jealousy, and politics have filled the hearts of orators who are intoxicated with power and position rather than heart service and sacrifice. It’s time to wake up from our comatose state and resist the lulling of the serpents tongue. It’s time to cast off the spirit of slumber and awaken from the nightmare of tolerance and inclusiveness which is driven by a spirit of fear and denial.

“Oh foolish Galatians who has “BEWITCHED’ you that you should not obey the truth” (Gal. 3:1).

Olly olly ox in free… come out come out from where ever you are! Wake up…

It’s time to preach the Word of God!

Distractions

Distractions!!!

Have you notice all that is going on I the world to bring people to a mindset of hopelessness? It’s obvious the spirit of lawlessness and a spirit of anti-christ is at work.

The church denomination I love and serve divided over human sexuality issues.

The government politicians radically divided over defining the constitution and carring out an agenda that harms us and does not help us and is for their own self gain.

Racial anger displays in the streets which are actually in rebellion toward government and authority; which has lead to the death of those who live to protect and serve.

“Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake, whether to the king as supreme, or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men— as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God. Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.” I Peter 2:13-17 NKJV

Personal Offense due to political correctness has the modern church in bondage and the world enslaved to the feelings and emotions of others.

Jehad… Need I say more?

The Devil and the demonic forces sit back and belly laugh at the distractions they have sold us and desire for us to destroy each other and live in a trapped mindset of offence and division.

With all this physical and spiritual unrest going on…

I BELIEVE WE ARE ON THE PRECIPICE OF THE GREATEST REVIVAL IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD.

You can sense it in your heart…GOD is ready to pour out an abundance of blessings as never before. Hearts are being fined tuned to call upon the name of the Lord. We are living in a time of great CHAOS. Chaos always calls for the Spirit of God to hover and create, change, and transform.

LORD. SEND THE HOLY SPIRIT WITH POWER TO SAVE, HEAL, AND TRANSFORM. LET HIM HOVER OVER US IN THE MIDST OF OUR CHAOS!

Send forth labors…the field is ripened unto harvest. The people are out there mixed in the tares… Let’s go and gather for the Lord in power and the LOVE of the FATHER!

Matt. 13:30: “Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”

Blessings,
Ric
